Fees

Lawyers have several kinds of ways of charging for their services —on an hourly basis, a contingent basis (payment as a percentage of monies collected), a combination of hourly and contingent, and, in some cases, a flat fee depending on the facts of the case, the likelihood of success and collection, and the time involved.  We try to fashion a fee arrangement which is
realistic and suits the facts of
the case.

Litigation Attorney Steven C. Finley Fees and Initial Consultation

Out of Pocket Costs

Every case has certain out of pocket costs, such as court filing fees, transcript fees and sometimes deposition and consultant or expert witness fees, as well as smaller incidental fees such as photocopying and messenger fees. While these are not usually substantial, they will always be your responsibility.

Initial Consultation

We will provide you with a brief initial consultation to see whether your case is one in which we can assist. This consultation can usually take place by telephone or by email.  If documents need to be reviewed, then we can arrange to meet at our offices for those purposes.

Before work starts on any case, the client is, by law, required to sign a written fee agreement that sets out all the terms of the engagement.  That agreement, and not the general information in this website, will govern the terms of our attorney-client relationship.
